Heru Launches Digital House for People with Disabilities

Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono launched the Digital House for Disabilities at the Digital House for Indonesia, Jalan Teluk Betung, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta.

It bridges them to get various useful information through technological infrastructure support

The Digital House for Disabilities was launched as a forum for people with disabilities to work and get access to information such as digital forums, event agendas, job training, and MSMEs for job vacancies around the world of disability.

According to him, the Digital House for Disabilities can be a space of expression to communicate, hone, and improve the abilities of people with disabilities in Indonesia.

"It is part of our obligation to make it easier for colleagues with disabilities to communicate more broadly and not feel alone, there are friends," he expressed, Friday (11/4).

He assessed it was launched to facilitate them to access information and has a positive space for expression. This forum is deemed to improve the digital literacy skills of persons with disabilities.

"It bridges them to get various useful information through technological infrastructure support," he added.

Digital House Initiator for Disabilities, Angkie Yudistia stated the barriers to access to information and communication patterns are felt by almost all types of people with disabilities in Indonesia. Even, many people with disabilities have difficulty in adapting to the growing era of digitalization.

“With this forum, the answer is. Thus, they can get information, job training, and MSMEs, as well as assistance to improve digital literacy skills," she explained.

She added that this digital platform was in line with the policy of the President, Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo, who asked for an acceleration of digital transformation for all.

The ease of digital access for people with disabilities is deemed part of the effort to bring about this transformation for people with disabilities in Indonesia.

"Starting from here, we hope that superior and competent disabled talents will be born and able to answer the challenges of the times," she stated.
